Deck Builders for Kyle's Growing South Corridor
Majestic builds decks across Kyle, Texas, with focus on the south Kyle corridor, Plum Creek extension, Sunset Hills, and Cypress Forest. Composite, multi-level, pool deck, and custom builds. Fully insured. Permit partners handle Hays County permits. 1,000+ projects since 2016.
Kyle sits 22 miles south of downtown Austin in southern Hays County, and it’s grown faster than any other city we serve since 2018. We’ve completed deck projects across Plum Creek (south extension), Sunset Hills, Cypress Forest, Kensington Trails, and the broader south Kyle corridor. Kyle’s pace of new construction means much of our Kyle work occurs on recently built homes where the original builder didn’t include a deck, or on homes where the homeowner is adding a pool deck after the pool is installed. Our deck-building team is fully insured and works with Kyle year-round.
Kyle’s terrain runs flatter than Buda’s. We see fewer grade-drop multi-level builds in Kyle and more flat-lot composite deck installations. That said, the southern Kyle subdivisions (Sunset Hills, Cypress Forest) sit on small grade drops that occasionally make a multi-level deck the better fit. We measure the actual lot at the site walk before recommending the tier configuration.
The Kyle site walk works the same as Buda: 60 to 90 minutes on-site, lot measurement, design conversation, and physical material samples. We’ll bring samples of capped composite (Trex Pro and TimberTech) and Western Red Cedar so you can compare them in your actual sunlight. Schedule a Kyle site walk to begin.
Neighborhoods and Project Patterns in Kyle
Four Kyle subdivisions account for most of our project volume. Each has different lot characteristics, HOA conventions, and material preferences.
Plum Creek South (the southern extension of the Buda Plum Creek subdivision) is one of our most active zones in Kyle. The architectural review process is the same as Buda’s Plum Creek phases, with the same submittal requirements and a 2 to 4-week approval window. We’re familiar with the committee from years of submittals, and we’ll prep the package as part of the quote.
Sunset Hills is a newer south Kyle subdivision with predominantly two-story homes on small grade drops. Multi-level deck designs work well here when the grade drop warrants them, and flat composite decks suit most. Pool installations are common in Sunset Hills because the lots were sized to accommodate them.
Cypress Forest and Kensington Trails sit east of I-35 in the rapidly developing east Kyle corridor. We see more new-construction projects here than in any other Kyle zone, and homeowners often have the deck designed during or shortly after move-in. Custom design work picks up in these subdivisions because homeowners build out outdoor living spaces with full feature integration.
The broader South Kyle corridor (south of FM 150) is the newest growth area in Kyle. Most homes here were built between 2019 and 2024, and the deck-build market is robust because most original builds did not include a deck. We’re now building 20-30% of our Kyle volume in this corridor.
Material recommendations for Kyle differ slightly from Buda’s because of the flatter lots. Capped composite at the deck surface is still our lead recommendation for sun and chlorine exposure, but tier-optimization opportunities are fewer in Kyle than in Buda. Composite decking (Trex Pro lead, TimberTech premium) is the most common material we install in Kyle.
When the design calls for wood, cedar works well for shaded back-yard decks where the canopy reduces direct sun exposure. We don’t recommend cedar at pool-adjacent tiers; capped composite handles chlorine and splash exposure better than wood at the pool edge.
Kyle’s HOAs (Plum Creek South, Sunset Hills, Cypress Forest, Kensington Trails) all require architectural review for deck installations. We’ll prep the full submittal package as part of the quote. Plum Creek South typically reviews in 2 to 3 weeks. The newer subdivisions (Sunset Hills, Cypress Forest, Kensington Trails) often take 3 to 4 weeks because their committees meet less frequently.
The City of Kyle and Hays County both require permits for decks that are more than 30 inches high or have a structural attachment. Our permit partners file the paperwork, so the project doesn’t stall on the city or county process. The Kyle permit timeline runs in parallel with the HOA review for 2 to 3 weeks.
Custom deck design is a growing slice of our work in Kyle. Outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and pergola integration are common in the east Kyle corridor, where homeowners build out backyard entertaining spaces during initial move-in.
Pool decks make up roughly 30 percent of our Kyle volume. Pool installations were popular in Kyle subdivisions developed between 2019 and 2023, and pool deck surrounds are the most common follow-on project. Composite or porcelain pavers around pool edges, slip-resistant texture options for safety.
Kyle site walks schedule within 7 to 10 days of inquiry, same as Buda. Written quote arrives within 5 business days of the site walk. You don’t get pressured to sign at the Kyle site walk. Construction timelines for residential builds range from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the scope.
We also serve adjacent markets in Hays County, including Buda to the north and Driftwood to the west.
Kyle projects sometimes overlap into Wimberley and other south Hays County markets when the project sits on a county line.
The site walk and quote logistics work the same regardless of which Hays County city your home sits in.
Frequently Asked Questions — Kyle Deck Projects
What HOAs do you work with in Kyle?
Plum Creek South, Sunset Hills, Cypress Forest, and Kensington Trails are the four main HOAs we submit to in Kyle. We’re familiar with each committee’s review process and submittal requirements. Plum Creek South typically reviews in 2 to 3 weeks; the newer subdivisions take 3 to 4 weeks because their committees meet less frequently. We’ll prep the full submittal package as part of the quote.
Why are flat composite decks more common in Kyle than in Buda?
Kyle’s terrain runs flatter than Buda’s. Most Kyle lots have a minimal grade drop from the house pad to the back property line, so a single-level composite deck is the natural fit. Buda has more grade-drop lots that justify multi-level designs. We measure the actual lot at the site walk and recommend tier configuration based on what your specific lot supports, not on neighborhood averages.
Do you serve the south Kyle corridor (south of FM 150)?
Yes. The south Kyle corridor is the newest growth area in our Kyle market, and we’re building 20 to 30 percent of our Kyle volume here. Most homes in this corridor were built between 2019 and 2024 and didn’t include decks in the original build. We’ve completed projects across the corridor and know the local HOA review patterns.
How long does a Kyle deck project take from quote to completion?
The total timeline runs 8 to 14 weeks for typical Kyle residential projects. The site walk occurs within 7 to 10 days of the inquiry. Written quote arrives 5 business days after the site walk. HOA review and permits take 4 to 6 weeks in parallel. Construction runs 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the scope. Custom feature integration (outdoor kitchen, pool deck, multi-level) can extend the construction window by 2 to 4 weeks.
Do you build pool decks in Kyle?
Yes. Pool decks are roughly 30 percent of our Kyle volume because pool installations were popular in subdivisions developed between 2019 and 2023, and the surround is often the follow-on project. We install composite or porcelain pavers around pool edges with slip-resistant texture options. We don’t recommend wood at pool-adjacent tiers because chlorine and splash exposure degrade wood faster than composite.
What's the difference between a Kyle quote and a Buda quote?
The quote structure is identical: itemized materials, labor, permits, HOA submittal coordination, and project timeline. The differences show up in the line items. Kyle quotes typically have less tier-optimization (because lots are flatter), more all-composite recommendations, and slightly faster HOA review windows. Buda quotes more often include multi-level structural detail and tier-optimized material selection.
Are you a member of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce?
We’re not currently a Kyle Area Chamber member, but we’ve completed work throughout Kyle since 2016, and we’re a fully insured contractor. We can provide references from past Kyle projects on request. Our permit partners file directly with the City of Kyle and Hays County, so the permit process is the same as for any local contractor.
